Keeping up to date with what’s happening in the SEO world can be a daunting task. Not only do you have to monitor your websites and respond to fluctuations in traffics/conversions quickly, you have to listen out for changes in algorithm or new indicators in what will help you rank in Google; the latter two can be done quite easily by subscribing to and reading blogs.

1. Sphinn

Sphinn is several things, it’s a news website, a forum and a place for networking. Think of it as a Digg for the marketing arena, we use it to read popular posts and keep up to date with everything in online marketing.

2. SEOmoz

SEOmoz is one of the most popular search engine optimisation blogs online, it has a thriving community of SEO professionals and staff at SEOmoz always get involved in the discussion below each blog, so it’s worth becoming a member – even a free one.

3. Search Engine Round Table

Search Engine Round Table focuses on search engine marketing (SEM). This is on the list because they release concise posts giving latest news in the world of search, across all engines. The best thing about this blog is that a “Daily summary” is released at the end of every day, making the topics much easier to digest.

4. Andy Beard

Andy Beard’s blog covers the topics of Internet Business & Marketing Strategy (including lead acquisition, online business strategy and social media). It is very down-to-earth and Andy goes into depth (read: technical) in each topic, so it may not be for the faint-of-heart.

5. Official Google Webmaster Central Blog

It sounds obvious, but the Official Google Webmaster Central Blog is a must-have for any individual involved in online marketing! We’re all subscribed and read the posts as soon as they’re available because there’s nothing better than something coming from the horse’s mouth.
